Welcome to 9th Grade World History! This course explores the people, ideas, discoveries, conflicts, and innovations that transformed the modern world from the Renaissance to the end of World War II. Students will examine how revolutions, industrialization, imperialism, nationalism, and global conflict reshaped civilizations and continue to influence the world we live in today. Along the way, they will study influential leaders, pivotal events, and the complex relationships between cultures, governments, and societies across the globe.
Throughout the year, students will analyze primary and secondary sources, investigate historical questions, conduct research, participate in discussions and simulations, and strengthen their historical thinking and communication skills. More than memorizing dates and events, this course is designed to help students evaluate evidence, understand multiple perspectives, recognize patterns of change over time, and appreciate how the decisions of the past continue to shape our interconnected world.
